FAQ's
Do I need to be a Vermont educator to participate in the training program?
No, this financial literacy training program is available to all Vermont citizens. All Vermont educators and citizens can take as few or as many program Courses as they desire. However, most of the Courses were designed with educators in mind.
Do I need to Register prior to being able to access the 8 Courses on this leaning management system?
Yes, you need to Register for the Vermont Financial Educator Virtual Academy prior to having access to the entire program and to each individual Course. You must register here: https://champlain.mclms.net/en/registration/
Once you have submitted your registration, you will receive an Account Activation email with a link to confirm your email address, allowing you to then access the program and the Courses. If you have completed the registration form and did not receive an email, please check you spam email account prior to reaching out to us for assistance. The email you are looking for could be in your spam folder.
Do I need to attend all Courses to receive credit?
No. You can complete any desired Course and receive Professional Development Credit for just that Session. There are 8 individual Courses that you can attend. At the completion of each Course, you will be asked to complete a very short survey regarding the Course. Once you have completed the Course and completed and submitted the survey, you will receive a Professional Development Certificate for that completed Course. A certificate will be emailed to the email address that your used to register for this program as soon as you have completed a Course. This means that you could receive 8 separate Certificates of Completion if you complete each Course that is available to you. If you have completed a Course and have not received a Certificate of Completion, please check your email spam folder prior to contacting us.
You may also access all of your Certificates of Completion in your account that you created to take this course. Go to “My Account” navigation button on the top of the webpage to access a dropdown screen. Click on “My Certificate” which will take you to this website link: https://champlain.mclms.net/en/profile/my-certificates/.
Your account will only be available to you until May 31, 2026. Download all of your Certificates of Completion prior to this date. The Certificates of Completion will not be recoverable after this date and cannot be issued by the Center for Financial Literacy after this date.
How do I monitor my progress or know which Courses I have completed?
To monitor your progress of the entire program or a Course, go to the “My Account” button on the top right of the webpage and then pick "My Courses” from the dropdown screen. Learners can review which Courses they have started at this webpage. To view progress, click “View Course or Details” on the appropriate Course from this page. This will take you that particular Course page.
A checkmark next to a part of a Course indicates full completion of that part of the Course. If Course were only partially completed, progress will be saved and no checkmark will be present in that part of the Course.
By clicking on the “Star” icon on a section of a Course, you are able to identify this part of the Course as a “Favorite” by you. The “Star” icon is for the learner to use if desired and has no impact on Course completion.
How do I complete a Course?
Each Course is broken into parts. You must watch the entire video in each Course section to move on to the next part of the Course. When have completed a part of a Course you can navigate to the next part of the Course by pressing the “Next:” button.
Please note that your progress in a Course will stop if you open another tab on your browser or open another application screen. In addition, the Learning Management System WILL NOT let you move on to the next part of a Course until you have watched the entire video. Remember, you MUST watch every video part included in a Course and complete the Feedback Survey for that Course in order to be awarded a Session Certificate of Completion.
How many credits do I earn for each Course?
Both Educators and Non-Educators can earn up to a total of 8 hours of Professional Development Credit. Each Session summary on the Courses List page indicates the amount of credit that will be awarded upon the successful completion of each Course. The Courses vary from 30 minutes to 80 minutes of Professional Development Credit.
How do I access the resources referred to in each Course of the program?
In each Course, many different resources are referred to that may be of interest to you. The “Resources” webpage has all of these items referenced for all Courses. The resources are organized by Course Title and are listed in order of Course Number. To access the website resources for each Course, click on “Vermont Financial Educator Virtual Academy” navigation button at the very top of the webpage you are on. A dropdown screen will appear. Click on “Resources” which will take you to this page: https://champlain.mclms.net/en/resources
I can't find my Courses.
You can search for a Course HERE. Once you identify the Course card for your desired course, click “Details or View” to open the course. From there, click into the first hyperlinked part of the Course to begin the course. Once you begin the course, your progress will be saved and the Course will be accessible from “My Account” > "My Courses" tab.
If you have recently gained access to a Course, you must begin that Course before it will appear in the "My Courses" tab.
Can I update my login credentials?
To reset your password, follow the Forgot Password Process HERE. To change your email address, please contact us.
I was logged out while completing a Feedback Survey. What happens?
Feedback Surveys are saved per page load – surveys that have one question per page, like ours, may be continued from the last access point, even if logged out.
